I have been a big critic of Warcraft Gold Guides for a long time. They all claim to do the identical thing – assist you to get as much gold as you can and yet they all use similar rehashed strategies. How can you make that much gold if you are using the same strategies and tactics as all the other gamers. The crowding and overlap is significant. Remember when you once were able make 1,000 gold an hour in Icecrown with Titanium mining? I do. These days, you’re lucky to come away with 500 gold and the price has doubled since Wrath of the Lich King was released because of the 3.2 gem additions.
So, when a new Warcraft gold guide comes out and claims to be better than all the other ones, I tend to roll my eyes. This time however, I took a closer look because the guide in question wasn’t showing anyone how to farm or quest their way to major gold counts. Instead, this particular guide, called Hit Gold Cap, claimed to be a streamlined, step by step process to making the entire gold cap – a count of over 214,700 gold – something that I’ve only seen once before in my entire time playing this game (and that was on a guild leader).

Review of the Warcraft Formula Product

I came across a new product just a couple days ago at Warcraft Formula that is actually a bit different from all the other WoW guides out there right now. It’s not a guide for anything in particular – so it’s not only for leveling, gold making, PvP, or anything else. However, I think it may still end up being a fairly useful resource for most of you out there who are looking to improve upon those very areas.
The site is run by Brad Johnson and T Dub Sanders, two guide writers you might have heard of. Brad put together Warcraft Millionaire and a profession guide under the same title. T Dub did the PVP Bible – probably the best pvp guide on the market right now. They decided to come together on this one, using the “both of best worlds” angle to sell the product. It actually seems to have worked as the Warcraft Formula product is pretty decent from both angles.
Here’s the premise – you start out by paying $17. That initial payment gets you quite a bit. First, there’s a guide that is admittedly pretty useless for anyone that’s been around for a while – an Action Plan that guides players through setting up an account with their main, UI mods, alts, gear, guild signups, and end-game setups. It’s a great resource, but probably more so for casuals looking to get deeper into the game.
Along with this though you get a monthly eBook that Brad and T Dub put out that contains about 30 pages of content on everything that happened in the last month in the game. In one of the past issues, the guide talked about an upcoming patch, gold making strategies at 2 months, and Death Knight nerfs and buffs. You get the current Warcraft Formula guide and all existing guides when you signup and then with a $17 monthly fee you get each guide monthly.
Coming from two consummate pros and produced to provide a wide variety of different bits of content each month covering everything from gold making and raiding to PvP (there’s a monthly PvP feature), the guide is pretty solid content and the price is definitely reasonable. If you’re looking for more up to date, pointed strategies each month, this is a good place to start.

Warcraft Supreme – The All In One Warcraft Guide

The World of Warcraft guides I’ve seen in my life have ranged between the absolutely wonderful leveling guides that provide just about every detail you could want but at an incredibly high premium to the horrendous, god awful guides that pretty much fail on every level because they recycle everything and make it downright impossible to read.
Usually, those single leveling guides were the rarity – something that you would find 1 in 10 and that would usually cost you upwards of $40. The latter example was all too common and usually included just about every all in one guide you found on the market.
So, of course, when I stumbled on Warcraft Supreme, a purported All in one guide that promised complete guide information for both factions from 1-80, a gold guide for all levels, class guides for all 10 classes, and an introductory PvP guide, I expected the same tired BS that would waste my time. What I got instead was a complete, fully featured guide that more or less did everything it promised.
The leveling guide was one of the best looking guides I’ve ever seen – we’re talking about top notch quality here all the way around – with sub-7 day times in my first run through. The Gold Guide was not revolutionary by any means, but it was so much better written than the others I’ve seen and so much more useful in that regard. I feel like I 100% understand the in-game economy now and could give lectures on it if needed.
Finally, those class and PVP Guides are actually incredibly useful, especially as I stepped up into a new class with my first ever Shaman character. It was incredibly good to know the basics that I needed to get started and I have been flipping through them all since then, picking up tidbits of information I had never thought of before.

Raid Progression in Northrend

When you hit level 80, there are a lot of things you could do. You could start earning gold with daily quests and auction house strategies. You could spend your time trying to figure out how to get a new character up to Level 80. You could defeat your opponents in Arena and Battleground play. Or you could join the millions of player who go out 2 and 3 nights a week to dungeons and raid instances throughout Northrend.
Starting Small
2. Don’t Expect Too Much – If you’re a raiding noob, don’t get frustrated. You’ll wipe a few times early on. Just keep trying and pay attention to what works and doesn’t.

Rogue PvP Secrets – Rogue Strategy Secrets

As you’re probably aware, Rogues are the most hated of all PvP classes. Why? Because they excel at taking down opponents, often without their foe even getting a chance to fight back. But not even Rogues are invulnerable. Understanding your strengths and weaknesses will make you a much more fearsome PvP foe. Let’s look at your Rogue’s strengths first.
Rogue PvP Strengths
I’ll say it right out. Rogues are perhaps the most effective and most feared of all PvP classes. Choosing your greatest strength is hard because you have so many of them. If you can learn to execute them properly, your Stunlocks are brutal. A well-executed stunlock can leave your opponent immobilized or staggering around in a daze, and make them easy pickings for you and your teammates. Learn to do this right, and if you have a good Rogue PvP build, few will be able to stand up to you.
Many would say that your poisoning skills are your greatest strength. Most enemies flee Rogues, and your Crippling Poison makes it much harder for them to get away, while your Mind Numbing Poison slows their ability to cast spells against you. Combine these with the rest of a Rogue’s abilities and you’ll drive your enemies to distraction as you terminate them.
Rogue PvP Weaknesses
One big weakness of being a Rogue in large battles is that other players don’t like you very much. Most players have been terminated while left helpless by stunlocks and poison. They will be happy to take you down. This can make you a target, as most players will happily help when it comes to taking out an enemy Rogue.
Beyond the fact that everyone hates you, your character’s biggest weakness is the complexity of executing a stunlock. If you get distracted by some Hunter’s pet, or the Shaman you’re after gets their Earthshield up in time, and you could be in trouble. Also, remember that you need to get in close. Let a ranged fighter keep their distance, and they’ll rip you to pieces.
These are just the basics of Rogue strategy, strengths, and weaknesses in PvP. Most decent players can do well in PvP with just basic Rogue strategy. But to really dominate you need more than that. Even if your Hunter has avoided it in the past, PvP combat is in their future. Wrath of the Lich King transformed World of Warcraft’s World PvP. With Lake Wintergrasp’s high popularity, and the trend toward PvP combat in the gaming industry, you’ll surely see more even more PvP in WoW in the future. Here’s what you need to know to handle your Hunter in this new world:
If you want to be a Hunter in PvP combat, it would be helpful to have the instincts of a hunter. That’s because you’re going to need to be able to identify your prey and understand how it will behave in various situations. Then you need to use this knowledge to stalk and kill it. You need to understand your own capabilities, your gear, and the tactical situation. Then you need to position yourself and take down the prey before it can take you out. In WoW PvP, it’s much the same, except that your prey is another player’s character instead of an animal.
However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the right time to deploy your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is necessary but not enough. You also need to know how to manage the space between you and your opponents so you can hurt them as badly as possible before they get close in each battle. And you must do all this against an intelligent character, rather than a wild animal.
To truly succeed in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. In particular you need to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are most likely to approach you. You also need to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.
It’s possible to learn what you need to know by putting in enough time in the arena. But I can tell you from personal experience that if you try, you had better be prepared to get crushed and humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter pvp guide that I started climbing in the standings rapidly.

WoW Leveling Guides and Class Quests

World of Warcraft Leveling Guides are designed to get your character to Level 80 as fast as possible. To do this, they get your character following a certain chain of quests that is designed to rack up experience rapidly. But you need to take into account the unique class quests for each character class. Where do these fit into power leveling?
Each World of Warcraft class has attributes, abilities, and quests that make it unique. That’s why you may love playing a Warlock, while I’m big on Hunters, and so on. Even if you could get to Level 80 without developing the unique characteristics of your character, it would take a lot of the fun out of playing.
So how does developing your character’s unique attributes fit into the typical WoW Leveling Guide? It doesn’t. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of work to integrate the unique quests for each class into any kind of leveling guide. Some guides just cover the basics of leveling and leave it up to you to figure out how to get your class quests taken care of. But there are some people out there who are doing this right.

These guides are designed so that your character will automatically see their class quests in the guide as part of their path to Level 80. As a result, your character will be a fully-functional Paladin, Priest, Hunter, or whatever class you chose by the time they’re done racing up to Level 80.
Getting your character’s class quests done while they’re leveling is vital to your character’s success in the end game. And forcing you to figure out how to fit your quests into a generic leveling guide isn’t acceptable. Don’t accept any guide that doesn’t include your class quests in the progression.
